Our surfcamp is located in Playa Hermosa on the Nicoya Peninsula in the northern pacific coast of Costa Rica in a very laid back and unexplored area not far away from the famous and more touristic playa of Santa Teresa where you can enjoy costa rica´s nightlife.

Our beachfront lodging offers you a short walking distance to different surf-spots which break all year long. The pacific coastline guarantees you very consistant surf with year-round water temperatures around 27 degrees celsius (80 F). You will find some of the most beautiful, clean and uncrowded beaches. Besides chilling & surfing you can choose between different activities in and around the camp area like white-water-rafting, quad- and jungle canopy tours. Our camp offers you lots of entertainment (surfmovies, music or just chilling).

We bring you to hidden and well known spots with excellent waves for beginners and professionals. The short travel distances provide you the possibility to score a variety of world class point, reef and beach breaks. Our homebreak is located in Playa Hermosa de Cobano. This is a perfect place to surf one of the last uncrowded surfing areas in Costa Rica. There are consistant beach break lefts and rights when it´s small and two reef breaks which get very fast & hollow with big swell.

Other nearby surf spots are:

- Santa Teresa: A very popular surf spot for surfers of all levels with many reef and beach breaks.

- Playa el Carmen, Mal Pais: Offers long right and shorter left surfing over sand and a very consistant outer reef break (sunset reef).

- Manzanillo: Excellent reef break for big swell.

During your visit you will be accommodated in one of our three lovely houses which are right at the beach of Playa Hermosa. Surrounded by the tropical forest, the endless horizon of the pacific ocean and the many nearby surfbreaks which are in short walking distance from the camp. The main house consists of three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, one shared bathroom and a big terrace with a chill-out area overviewing the whole campsite. The other two ranchos have each an upstair bedroom, a beathroom and a comfortable chill-area.

travel & facts

Arriving in San Jose at the international airport?
Take a taxi to the ´COCA COLA´ bus terminal where buses leave to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa at 7:30, 11:30 and 15:00 every day. Give us a call when you leave from San Jose and we will pick you up in Mal Pais (Phone.: 506-640 0541). The whole trip will take around 6 hours and cost you approximately US$ 15-20. If you arrive in San Jose late afternoon or at night you might want to stay in one of the many backpackers or hotels and leave the next morning.

Private surf lessons for beginner are available for € 30 / 2 hrs.

Surfboards can be rented for € 70/ week (they are included in our beginner

and standard packge) Save some money on the transport from the airport and

choos one ouf our boards instead.

We have longboards, malibus, mini-malibus and shortboards.
